What the heck is a Kalamonkey? We’re glad you asked!
To some it’s a town, to others it’s a monkey. To us, it’s an original animated series starring Roger Clarke and Sid “the nose” BriereĀ about two guys from Kalamazoo, Michigan who were “legends” in the 1990s.
Their past adventures center around a portal to another dimension (which appeared in the backyard of their rental house) and a strange creature called Kalamonkey – who, it turns out, has been meddling about in our dimension long enough to have “the whole dang town” named after him.
Although it takes place in the actual town of Kalamazoo (a.k.a. “Kalamonkey”), the story is designed for broad comedic appeal. Anyone who took part in the “slacker” lifestyle – or just felt stuck in their hometown with nothing but their imagination to keep them sane – will be able to relate to what critics are calling “a modern folk tale of archetypal proportions.”*
*- By “critics” we mean us… when we are trying desperately to sound important.
